مطالعه‌ی اهمیت و کارکرد تصویرگری تاریخ در عصر صفوی

چکیده

       تعداد نسخ تاریخی مصور به جا مانده از عصر صفوی در قیاس با سایر نسخ مصور آن عصر و همچنین در قیاس با نسخ تاریخی مصور همسایگان مسلمان صفویان، عثمانیان و مغولان هند، نسبتاً ناچیز است. همین امر سبب شده است که پژوهشگران صفویان را نسبت به تصویرگری تاریخ بی­توجه قلمداد کنند و این ویژگی را گسستی نسبت به سنت تصویرگری ایران بدانند. از آنجا که مطالعات زیادی در زمینه­ی تصویرگری تاریخ در عصر صفوی صورت نپذیرفته است، این مقاله ضمن معرفی و ارزیابی آرای پژوهشگرانی که در این راستا نظریه پردازی کرده­اند، و اشاره به کاستی های رویکرد موجود، اهمیت تصویرگری تاریخ نزد صفویان و کارکرد این تصاویر در نظام صفوی را تبیین می­نماید. این پژوهش که با استناد به منابع کتابخانه­ای و اسناد تصویری به روش توصیفی-تحلیلی انجام پذیرفته، ثابت می­کند صفویان نه تنها به تصویرگری تاریخ بی­توجه نبودند، بلکه علاوه بر تصویرگری نسخ خطی، ابزارهای دیگری نیز برای تصویرگری تاریخ در اختیار داشتند و تعداد آثار بجا مانده معیار مناسبی برای قضاوت رویکرد آنان به تصویرگری تاریخ نیست. نتایج این پژوهش نشان می­دهد که آنچه تصویرگری تاریخ نزد صفویان را متمایز ساخته است، نه در کمیت، بلکه در کیفیت و کاربرد این تصاویر است.
