Reading text on web pages has gradually become our daily habit due to the continuous increase of publishing content online. With the growth of the digital world as well fonts are still useful tools to convey messages in the fastest and most legible way. The transmission of the message and the understanding of the text, which happen during the reading process, are completed when the audience interacts with the text. In today's world, the subject of audience interaction with the digital environment has been the focus of designers and researchers. Because today, unlike in the past, simply having great content and transferring it to the audience from a technical and pragmatic point of view cannot guarantee audience interaction. This is where examining the user experience and their reading needs becomes very important. It seems that the more interaction with the text, it means that their eyes move correctly on the letters and words, easily identify the letters and word combinations and interpret the interaction and connection between the words to read at a suitable speed and the least amount of eye fatigue is done and the result is comprehension, the audience is more motivated to read and stay in the web environment. Therefore, recording the three factors of reading speed, the number of blinks, in order to record the amount of eye fatigue and the reader's understanding while reading, can help us in examining the reading process and the factors affecting it.
For this purpose, this research has investigated the factors affecting the readability of fonts on web pages, assuming that the correct choice of font, based on the needs of the audience, makes the text easier to read. In this research, after examining the structure of the screen, the principles of Naskh Script as the primary model for recognizing the habits of the Persian-speaking audience have been examined. Finally, these principles were tested on 30 subjects aged 25 to 45 years, with full vision and no experience of brain damage or disease, in order to measure their effect on reading speed, eye fatigue, and readers' comprehension. In this research, the question "What factor can be considered as one of the influencing factors on readability of the text based on the needs and habits of the audience?" was raised as the main question, and in order to answer it, other questions such as "Does the form of the letters affect the reading process on the screen?" and "Is the habit of reading on web pages different from the reading habit of the audience in the text of books?" has also been answered. The results show that contrast thickness in letters’ body is the only factor that has a significant effect on audience eye fatigue, and none of the other factors have a significant effect on eye fatigue and readers' comprehension. The results show that the thickness contrast in the body of the letters is the only factor that has a significant effect on the eyes fatigue, other factors have no effect on the reading speed, eye fatigue, and reading comprehension.
